Mid term break has just ended which means half a semester more to go... Time files pretty fast nowadays... Just do not know why. Even my laptop is doing it to me when i ran it on battery. sad. Had a 2 weeks break but in the end, went back to school almost everyday just to complete assignment. Anyway, For me i think going back to school to do work would be more efficient as i would just slack and waste time at home and wasting my brain cells on useless but entertaining stuff. Now, have a Mobile games programming assignment to complete which is due the day after where the group have the present on the game made. but as of now, the progress is not good if we wanted a fully developed game. time is a constraint. Then again, we never EVER manage our time properly and not discipline enough to complete our work. Just recently, I had to hand in a incomplete "Programming physics" assignment. It was suppose to be a 3 person teamwork but in the end, the other 2 in my team for this particular assignment never did a thing and so i Tanked(new meaning to this work by my current classmates) everything meaning i did EVERYTHING but in the end, I just gave up and handed up incomplete work as I already have no mood to complete due to the "soloness". Think gonna disband and get another 2 person with similar scenario as mine and we form a new team. Come to think of it, another assignment had came up last week but up till now I have not done anything on it as I don't really know how to go about it. It's not easy as it is "Advance Computer Graphics" the topics taught can be very intimidating. Oh well. since I am already in this course, I shall try and do my best. And 1 good thing is that although I am struggling as of now, I enjoy what I do so it's not bad considering some people came in and don't like it and stayed on but eventually gave up and transferred which means wasting time and money. Another thing was that when 1 of the lecturer who was sort of like a form teacher to my group told us that actually our diploma is a mathematics diploma as it is programming and more programming compared to the mainstream IT courses, I was quite shocked but now i have accept it and taking it in my stride. Lastly, The Japanese class is fun. The tests are so easy for me. well goodnight !

My "Weekend" has just officially ended as i have no school on monday !!! wooo. ok let see what happen during the 4 days while i was in school.

Day 1 - Tuesday, 17 april 2007.
I have a 4 hours Advanced Computer Graphics practical class today and it starts at 2 PM so i can wake up real late. Been tasked with doing 4 pop-cap tutorial to familiarize us with using the pop-cap framework for doing a 2D game. I've also heard that on the next Advanced Computer Graphics class, we'll be given a assignment based on this 4 tutorial but i do not know of any details yet. hope it won't be hard. So far only completed the first tutorial and seems ok but i took up 4 hrs just to do this simple first tutorial. Looks like i am really out of touch.

Day 2 - Wednesday, 16 april 2007.
There's a total of 3 modules classes that i have to attend today. They are Programming physics, Maths 1 (somehow failed this module during semester 1 of year 1 so have to repeat it now) and Mobile Games Programming. The tutor for Physics is a female tutor from south america i think. she has a very outgoing personality but i seem to be not able to get what she means sometimes. hard for lessons though. Been tasked with doing a vector class using templates in C++. Don't know can make it or not but from my current status, looks like i can make it. Next I have maths 1 which consist of 1 hr lecture and 1 hr tutorial but I totally do not need to attend them as i received an email saying that i have passed maths 2 and going for classes is not a requirement. I just have to hand up assignment and do tests only but still i would go for classes since it's been a year already since i failed that module. I bet it will be a breeze for me as maths 2 is maths 1 + harder stuff and i passed maths 2 getting a not so good C+ grade though. Lastly is Mobile Games Programming. For this module, we are going to use java for programming games on mobile devices a.k.a handphone. went through a simple tutorial on how to use J2ME which is java platform, Micro Edition. For now nothing got registered in my head yet. And so we have an assignment which needs us to be in teams of 3. So i got into a team with eddie and 1 guy whom i do not know and absent for that class and until now still don't know. For that assignment, we are to do a proposal on a moobile phone game which is 10% for that module. Since that guy was not around and we don't know who was he, me and eddie decided to each do 1 proposal and we compare later and choose 1 for submission. I'm almost complete for that proposal, I wonder whats the progress for eddie and also hope that guy is ok with programming. And oh went home together with JW since he ended class same time as me.

Day 3 -Thursday, 19 april 2007
Today is the most hectic out of all 4 days as i have 9 hrs worth of class today. first off is 3 hrs of game development technique. for todays lesson, we were to debug some codes with tons of errors. If we do not finish it before class ends, we would be marked as absent. but thankfully, we(me and a few others whom i still do not know + Eddie) were able to finish it by helping each other. It's Communication skills class after Game Development technique. can't really rmb anything from class except for the management thing we talked about in class and we also have to do a discussion forum which i haven done yet. OH NO. And i was absurbly appointed rep for the class and had to collect money to get the book need for the class and now i owe the class ppl each 65 cents which i still have not returned to the majority of the class. Then after that was break and had lunch and saw Kimberly and Jonna. Chatted a while with them and I left for my next class which is principles of games design which is a 3 hours class. The tutor arrived talk a while, passed down a list to write down our contacts and games we played then she said class dimissed. like WTH, 10 mins finish le but still have class later after this class so stayed back there in the room to play http://tower-defence.com/ to pass time. Now, it's the last class of the day and it's JAP !!! so nice. haha. Went in class the tutor taught us a few phrases and intorduced us to regions of japan and also a glismpe of the japanese education system. We kept repeating what she said in japanes. the class was interesting all right. class ended and went to the lab with JW to get his needed files and went home with him again.

Day 4 - Friday, 20 April 2007 (Last day)
Today is rather slack, 5 hrs of lectures where only 3 is compulsory and the other 2 hrs is maths 1. anyway, went for maths 1 lecture and i just sat down there and listen. refreshed me on what i have learnt a year ago and that was kinda good. After maths had 1 hr before the next lecture starts. So i met up with my old groupmates and had lunch together. It was good meeting again as it is now different with a different group. After that the TD ppl went for their TD classes and me and my fellow Games Programming ppl went for our last 3 hr lecture which is Priciple of games design, Mobile games programming and Games development technique which is 1 hr each. the first lecture, Principle of games design, i saw my old DMD friends and realize that the DMD games specialization is having the same module as us GP so i "abandon" my DET friends and join my DMD friends for awhile. After this, i parted with my DMD friends and continue to another lecture theatre for mobile games programming. The Module Leader Ng how seng is a very nice guy. He introduce us to the java and tell us about the difference about java and C++ and said that if you're ok in C++ you should not worry even though there are some difference in syntax. After that was the last item of the day, Games Development technique, almost same thing as practical class. talked about debugging etc. the tutor said that she has a habit of calling ppl out just before the class ends to summarize about the lecture she just given. So now i'm kinda worry and also have to take notes during her class. It'll be good for me in a way. LOL.

Well That's all what happen last week and tomorrow is another brand new week with brand new worries :D. good night !

Got some time to finally do a post leisurely. The time as of now is 7.30 am and I am in Block L (School of IT) typing this. My class starts at 11 later. It's been like more than a month since my last post.

Now, is the last day of the fourth week of my second semester. Time really files past. For now, I am taking 6 modules. The 6 modules are Production & Project Management, Mathematics 2, Advanced C++ Programming, Computer Graphics, Production Pipeline Scripting and Web development.

For Production & Project Management which I have it later at 11 am to 1 pm for 2 hours, it basically talks about how to handle project efficiently and currently, we make a project on anything then write a report on it then after that do a powerpoint presentation to the class.

Mathematics 2 is mostly learning maths needed for computer graphics so there's vectors and matrices and mostly done in 3D for now. Remember vectors we did during secondary school where we have up to 2 by 2 matrix ? Now, for me, we have to do a 3D matrix which is 4 by 4 and can get really confusing sometimes.

Advanced C++ Programming speaks for itself. Doing C++ Programming on Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. But for me I am not very good at it as I barely pass the module during semester 1.

For computer graphics, we're using GLUT in C++ for openGL and can say that this module is a combination of C++ and maths. It is kinda of fun as you get to create some images by using codes but it's really tough.

Production pipeline scripting is about well, i'm not too sure either. For now we're doing some sort of pipeline for our last semester 3 weeks project. It kind of confusing for me as of now but I hope that I will get it soon.

Lastly, is Web development. For this, I've gotten an assignment to do for the module 2 weeks ago and due next week which is to design a web page with at least 3 pages using CSS. But up till now, I haven even started thinking about it yet. Must quickly go do it or else will not bw able to make it at the last minute for this sort of things.

Other than these modules, been having fun in this course too. Majority of the people in this course are guys with a few girls only. So some of the guys are ......... as you know. And for my class, almost everybody owns a laptop and nowadays we're in school at 8 am almost everyday when there are classes even though our classes are at 1 pm.

Went for "job training" today and in the end, reach le then sit for 1/2 hour and left. It was a MLM company. upon knowing I was very disappointed. Imagine if i listen to their advice and stay on and try. I'll be calling my friends now and getting them to either buy my product or join me. And the end result will be all of my friends shunning me.

today played mahjong with stef and SW. It was fun. We started off initially with the wrong methods but as we progressed, we became more and more accurate with the rules and so on. Hope to have another time angain :D.

First, take a look at my photoshop enhance Phantom from my previous shot. Then compare them and see which is better :D.

Well, Nothing much was done with taking pictures. Took some pictures of my naruto figure but it didn't came out too well. Shall review on my techniques and so on on another photo taking subject during the next few days. For now. the theme of these 4 shots shall be "Shadow naruto". Hmm. Does not sound quite right to me though. Any suggestions ?

Took pictures of my Phantom figure from "Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within" and tested a few angles and lighting. To me he effects not bad then followed by some photoshop touch up. Took quite a long time. Especially the photoshop part. Well I am happy with the final result. Initially wanted to take pictures of my Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura but my camera battery went flat. Sad.

Finally some updates from me. It's been very long since I have last done my last update. After 3 long weeks of studio project, it's break time for me(us) over here at DET Nanyang Poly. We had to make a text based console games meaning no bitmap, no nothing only text but we could include audio. So my group and I pulled it off safely. We made a great game in terms of coding as we are not very good with programming unlike some of my other friends in the class whose skills are very good that my jaw will drop. And C++ programming is different from what they're learning over at RP. Lots of things had happen during those 3 weeks like 1 of my friends at DET got chicken pox on the second day and therefore he was out of commission for the next 2 weeks. He came back only on the last week which is technically 3 days left. Ok, enough with DET already. I have decided to stop what I was doing. So I'm sorry Wei Xian. Your work will no longer be published here. I'll be looking for a job to keep me occupied for the 6 weeks with most probably YZ. RP people only have 2 weeks left for their break. So won't be asking them.

Was unable to go CHR on teachers' day because of my lecturer who came so late but I cannot blame him as he broke him arm prior to the day he was gonna access us.

The independent marker turns out to be Mr. Danny Koh. He shot us with so many questions that some of us were unable to answer him correctly which might affect out overall marks. But I still hope that we can pull off at least a pass or else we're dead.

Sad To Say, This Time I Have No Pictures Because I'm Almost Doing Nothing Today. Went To SATA Woodlands With Aaron For Bodycheckup For Enrolment Into NYP And I Forgot My Specs And I Told The Nurse I Don't Wear Specs But Miraculously, I Scored A Perfect For Eyesight. Went At 1 Pm And Ended At About 3. Took 2 Hours. There's A Lot Of People There Too And They Are Doing The Same Thing As Me And Aaron.

Well, Now For The Main Point For The Day. Going Fishing Soon At About 7 For 3 Days And 2 Nights And Have To Wake Up By 6 So What Am I Doing Here? LOL. Oh Well, Never Mind. Kinda Used To It Already. And I Have Packed All The Essential Things Like Passport, Clothes. I Don't Need To Bring Much Actually. My Uncle Providing All The Fishinf Equipment. This Will Be The First Time For Me In Deep Sea Fishing In Indonesia. It's Going To Be Nice And Hectic After Hearing Experiences From My Uncle. Oh, Another Day Just Passed By And Nothing Much Happened. Took A Few Pictures While I Was In Sungei Kadut Area And Look At The Amount Of Wood There.

Well, Since I'm Trying Out A Photo Blog, Let Me Intoduce My 2 Equipment. First Is My Panasonic X800 That I'll Be Using Frequently And My Digital Camera, A Konica Minolta Dimage X50. Go See The Specs Yourself If You Want More Infomation On My Equipment. And Heres the Pictures I Took From My Panasonic Phone In The "Storage Area" For The Wood. It's Just A Small Fraction.

The Amount Of Wood There Is Humongest. Lots Of It. And In There, There's Also The Secondary Industries Like Making Doors And Furniture From The Wood. So Back To Geography. Location Of Materials And So On And So Forth. LOL. But What Caught My Attention Was A Section Of The Entire Place Was Used For Storage Of Granite And Marble Tiles. Hi, I'm New To Blogging Although It's Been Around For Decades. Went To Sim Lim Square With My Cousin To Look For His Ram On Sunday And Found It. He Bought A 512 RAM For Only $60+. I Asked About Mine Which Is A RD-RAM Totally Different From My Cousin And It Was A Hefty $200+ Because It's An Old Type. Well I Gave Up But The RAM Upgrade Really Inproved My Cousin's Machine. He Can Now Play Maple, Open Msn Messenger, Surf Net, Open Windows Media Player At The Time Without Suffering Any Lag Because He Now Has More Memory To Handle More Workload As Compared To His Previous 128MB Which Only Allow Him To Play Maple Only If He Does Not Want Any Lag. Sad Case. After Getting The Ram, I Went Around Hunting For My Lacus. We Went From Sunshine Plaza To China Square Complex And I Finally found My Lacus Clyne and Stellar Figurines. Actually I Only Wanted The Lacus Figure But The Guy Won't Sell Unless I Buy 2 Of Them So Therefore I Had No Choice. Had To Part With My $120. Sad Case. But Never Mind. Becase Before That, I Went To A Few Shops Selling These Types Of Things But All Said The Same Thing : " Lacus Clyne Is A Very Hot Item. Sells Out Very Fast And We Are Not Able To Get New Stock Anymore. Upon Hearing That I Was Extrememly Devasted.
